UM Earth Hour 2009, 28th of March, 7.30pm - 10.00pm, Dataran DTC, UM

Bravo to all students from Science & Technology Faculty and Environment Engineering Faculty whom had joined effort in organizing this event. There was only 18 days left when we first decided to organize this event. We have no resources nor any manpower in the first place. We were glad that we able to get more than 30 volunteers at the end of the event.

As usual, march is a busy month for students. They were packed with tons of assignments, thesis deadline, final examination. It was really amazing to see these group of volunteers willing to scarify their time to make this event happen.

UM Earth Hour 2009 managed to gather 350 UM students and staffs to come together to switch off their light for one hour. We gathered one hour early to get students to register and prepare to countdown at 830pm. Gamelan started when the lights goes off at 830pm. Prof Nik officiated this event by lighting up first candle and followed by the rest of the volunteers from UM Cares Clusters. Students and other supporters lighted up their candles and signed petition to show their support to this event.

This event belongs to everyone in the campus. Thanks to all supporters, volunteers, lecturers and professors, VC, TNC, UM authority, UM staffs and The Star. You had voted for our mother earth and you had made a change in our campus on that day!

Let us make more environmental change in our campus! Do support us in our future activities!

See ya :)
